krita-daro jugoporvim

kavyasya vrishaparvanah

SYNONYMS

catasrishu -- over the four; adisat -- allowed to rule; dikshu -- directions; bhratrin -- four brothers; bhrata -- Yayati; yaviyasah -- young; krita-darah -- married; jugopa -- ruled; urvim -- the world; kavyasya -- the daughter of Sukracarya; vrishaparvanah -- the daughter of Vrishaparva.

TRANSLATION

King Yayati had four younger brothers, whom he allowed to rule the four directions. Yayati himself married Devayani, the daughter of Sukracarya, and Sarmishtha, the daughter of Vrishaparva, and ruled the entire earth.
