udaksenas tatas tasmad
bhallato barhadishavah
SYNONYMS
jaigishavya -- of the great rishi named Jaigishavya; upadesena -- by the instruction; yoga-tantram -- an elaborate description of the mystic yoga system; cakara -- compiled; ha -- in the past; udaksenah -- Udaksena; tatah -- from him (Vishvaksena); tasmat -- from him (Udaksena); bhallatah -- a son named Bhallata; barhadishavah -- (all of these are known as) descendants of Brihadishu.
TRANSLATION
Following the instructions of the great sage Jaigishavya, Vishvaksena compiled an elaborate description of the mystic yoga system. From Vishvaksena, Udaksena was born, and from Udaksena, Bhallata. All these sons are known as descendants of Brihadishu.
