iti tasyām sa ādhāya

garbham sūryo divam gatah

sadyah kumārah sañjajñe

dvitīya iva bhāskarah

SYNONYMS

itiin this way; tasyām — unto her (Prithā); sahhe (the sun-god); ādhāya — discharging semen; garbham — pregnancy; sūryah — the sun-god; divamin the celestial planets; gatah — returned; sadyah — immediately; kumāraha child; sañjajñe — was born; dvitīyah — second; iva — like; bhāskarah — the sun-god.

TRANSLATION

After saying this, the sun-god discharged his semen into the womb of Prithā and then returned to the celestial kingdom. Immediately thereafter, from Kuntī a child was born, who was like a second sun-god.
