tad-abhidravad udvīkshya

sva-prayāsam ca nishphalam

durvāsā dudruve bhīto

dikshu prāna-parīpsayā

SYNONYMS

tat — of that disc; abhidravat — moving toward him; udvīkshya — after seeing; sva-prayāsam — his own attempt; ca — and; nishphalam — having failed; durvāsāh — Durvāsā Muni; dudruve — began to run; bhītah — full of fear; dikshuin every direction; prāna-parīpsayā — with a desire to save his life.

TRANSLATION

Upon seeing that his own attempt had failed and that the Sudarśana cakra was moving toward him, Durvāsā Muni became very frightened and began to run in all directions to save his life.
