viśāpo dvādaśābdānte
SYNONYMS
viśāpah — being released from the period of the curse; dvādaśa-abda-ante — after twelve years; maithunāya — for sexual intercourse with his wife; samudyatah — when Saudāsa was prepared to do it; vijñāpya — reminding him about; brāhmanī-śāpam — the curse given by the brāhmanī; mahishyā — by the Queen; sah — he (the King); nivāritah — checked.
TRANSLATION
After twelve years, when King Saudāsa was released from the curse by Vasishtha, he wanted to have sexual intercourse with his wife. But the Queen reminded him about the curse by the brāhmanī, and thus he was checked from sexual intercourse.
