rāya kahe, — "lokera sukha ihāra śravaṇe

abhīṣṭa-devera smṛti mańgalācaraṇe"

SYNONYMS

rāya kaheRāmānanda Rāya says; lokera — of the people in general; sukha — happiness; ihāra śravaṇein hearing such poetic expressions; abhīṣṭa-devera — of the worshipable Deity; smṛti — remembrance; mańgala-ācaraṇein the performance of auspiciousness in the beginning.

TRANSLATION

Rāmānanda Rāya said, "Instead of joking, people in general will feel great pleasure in hearing such poetry, for the initial remembrance of the worshipable Deity invokes good fortune."
