sanātana bhikṣā karena yāi' mahāvane

kabhu devālaye, kabhu brāhmaṇa-sadane

SYNONYMS

sanātanaSanātana Gosvāmī; bhikṣā karena — begs alms; yāi' mahā-vane — going to the vicinity of Mahāvana; kabhu — sometimes; devālayein a temple; kabhu — sometimes; brāhmaṇa-sadanein the house of a brāhmaṇa.

TRANSLATION

Sanātana Gosvāmī would beg alms from door to door in the vicinity of Mahāvana. Sometimes he would go to a temple and sometimes to a brāhmaṇa's house.
