nityānanda-gosāñire pāṭhāila gauḍa-deśe
teńho gauḍa-deśa bhāsāila prema-rase
SYNONYMS
nityānanda-gosāñire — Nityānanda Gosvāmī; pāṭhāila — sent; gauḍa-deśe — to Bengal; teńho — He; gauḍa-deśa — the tract of land known as Gauḍa-deśa, or Bengal; bhāsāila — overflooded; prema-rase — with ecstatic love of Kṛṣṇa.
TRANSLATION
Lord Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu sent Nityānanda Prabhu from Jagannātha Purī to Bengal, which is known as Gauḍa-deśa, and Lord Nityānanda Prabhu overflooded that country with the transcendental loving service of the Lord.
