śrī-śuka uvāca

tam āha bhagavān hṛṣṭaḥ

kṛtāsana-parigrahaḥ

megha-gambhīrayā vācā

sa-smitaḿ kuru-nandana

SYNONYMS

śrī-śukaḥ uvācaŚukadeva Gosvāmī said; tamto him; āha — said; bhagavān — the Supreme Lord; hṛṣṭaḥ — pleased; kṛta — having done; āsana — of a seat; parigrahaḥ — the acceptance; megha — like a cloud; gambhīrayā — deep; vācāin a voice; sa — with; smitama smile; kuru — of the Kurus; nandanaO beloved descendant.

TRANSLATION

Śukadeva Gosvāmī said: O beloved descendant of Kuru, the Supreme Lord was pleased, and after accepting a comfortable seat He smiled and addressed the King in a voice as deep as the rumbling of a cloud.
