upahūtās tathā cānye

droṇa-bhīṣma-kṛpādayaḥ

dhṛtarāṣṭraḥ saha-suto

viduraś ca mahā-matiḥ

brāhmaṇāḥ kṣatriyā vaiśyāḥ

śūdrā yajña-didṛkṣavaḥ

tatreyuḥ sarva-rājāno

rājñāḿ prakṛtayo nṛpa

SYNONYMS

upahūtāḥ — invited; tathā — also; ca — and; anye — others; droṇa-bhīṣma-kṛpa-ādayaḥ — headed by Droṇa, Bhīṣma and Kṛpa; dhṛtarāṣṭraḥDhṛtarāṣṭra; saha-sutaḥ — together with his sons; viduraḥVidura; ca — and; mahā-matiḥ — greatly intelligent; brāhmaṇāḥ kṣatriyāḥ vaiśyāḥ śūdrāḥ — brāhmaṇas, kṣatriyas, vaiśyas and śūdras; yajña — the sacrifice; didṛkṣavaḥ — eager to see; tatra — there; īyuḥ — came; sarva — all; rājānaḥ — kings; rājñām — of the kings; prakṛtayaḥ — the entourages; nṛpaO King.

TRANSLATION

O King, others who were invited included Droṇa, Bhīṣma, Kṛpa, Dhṛtarāṣṭra with his sons, the wise Vidura, and many other brāhmaṇas, kṣatriyas, vaiśyas and śūdras, all eager to witness the sacrifice. Indeed, all the kings came there with their entourages.
