tāvan mṛdańga-paṭahāḥ
śańkha-bhery-ānakādayaḥ
ninedur naṭa-nartakyo
nanṛtur gāyakā jaguḥ
SYNONYMS
tāvat — just then; mṛdańga-paṭahāḥ — mṛdańga and paṭaha drums; śańkha — conchshells; bherī — kettledrums; ānaka — large military drums; ādayaḥ — and so on; nineduḥ — resounded; naṭa — male dancers; nartakyaḥ — and female dancers; nanṛtuḥ — danced; gāyakāḥ — singers; jaguḥ — sang.
TRANSLATION
Just then there were loud sounds of conchshells and mṛdańga, paṭaha, bherī and ānaka drums, as well as other instruments. Men and women began to dance, and singers began to sing.
