Bhaktivedanta VedaBase: Śrīmad Bhāgavatam 2.8.13

kālasyānugatir yā tu

lakṣyate 'ṇvī bṛhaty api

yāvatyaḥ karma-gatayo

yādṛśīr dvija-sattama

SYNONYMS

kālasya — of eternal time; anugatiḥ — beginning; tuas they are; lakṣyate — experienced; aṇvī — small; bṛhatī — great; api — even; yāvatyaḥas long as; karma-gatayaḥin terms of the work performed; yādṛśīḥas it may; dvija-sattamaO purest of all brāhmaṇas.

TRANSLATION

O purest of the brāhmaṇas, please also explain the cause of the different durations of time, both short and long, as well as the beginning of time, following the course of action.
