pravavur vāyavaś caṇḍās
tamaḥ pāḿsavam airayan
digbhyo nipetur grāvāṇaḥ
kṣepaṇaiḥ prahitā iva
SYNONYMS
pravavuḥ — were blowing; vāyavaḥ — winds; caṇḍāḥ — fierce; tamaḥ — darkness; pāḿsavam — caused by dust; airayan — were spreading; digbhyaḥ — from every direction; nipetuḥ — came down; grāvāṇaḥ — stones; kṣepaṇaiḥ — by machine guns; prahitāḥ — thrown; iva — as if.
TRANSLATION
Fierce winds began to blow from all directions, spreading darkness occasioned by dust and hail storms; stones came in volleys from every corner, as if thrown by machine guns.
