duhitaraḿ corjasvatīḿ nāmośanase prāyacchad yasyām āsīd devayānī nāma kāvya-sutā

SYNONYMS

duhitaram — the daughter; ca — also; ūrjasvatīmŪrjasvatī; nāma — named; uśanase — unto the great sage Uśanā (Śukrācārya); prāyacchathe gave; yasyām — unto whom; āsīt — there was; devayānīDevayānī; nāma — named; kāvya-sutā — the daughter of Śukrācārya.

TRANSLATION

King Priyavrata then gave his daughter, Ūrjasvatī, in marriage to Śukrācārya, who begot in her a daughter named Devayānī.
