śacī āsi' kahe, — kene aśuci chuńilā

gańgā-snāna kara yāi' — apavitra ha-ilā

SYNONYMS

śacī āsi' — mother Śacī, coming there; kahe — said; kene — why; aśuci — untouchable; chuńilā — You have touched; gańgā-snāna — bathing in the Ganges; karado; yāi' — going there; apavitra ha-ilā — You have become impure.

TRANSLATION

When mother Śacī saw her boy sitting on the rejected pots, she protested, "Why have You touched these untouchable pots? You have now become impure. Go and bathe in the Ganges."
