śāpiba tomāre muñi, pāñāchi mano-duḥkha

paitā chiṇḍiyā śāpe pracaṇḍa durmukha

SYNONYMS

śapibaI shall curse; tomāre — You; muñiI; pāñāchiI have; manaḥ-duḥkha — mentally very much aggrieved; paitā — sacred thread; chiṇḍiyā — breaking; śāpe — cursing; pracaṇḍa — fiercely; durmukha — one who speaks harshly.

TRANSLATION

That brāhmaṇa was expert in talking harshly and cursing others. Thus he broke his sacred thread and declared, "I shall now curse You, for Your behavior has greatly aggrieved me."
