ete na hy adbhutā vyādha

tavāhiḿsādayo guṇāḥ

hari-bhaktau pravṛttā ye

na te syuḥ para-tāpinaḥ

SYNONYMS

ete — all these; na — not; hi — certainly; adbhutāḥ — wonderful; vyādhaO hunter; tava — your; ahiḿsā-ādayaḥ — nonviolence and others; guṇāḥ — qualities; hari-bhaktauin devotional service; pravṛttāḥ — engaged; ye — those who; na — not; te — they; syuḥare; para-tāpinaḥ — envious of other living entities.

TRANSLATION

"'O hunter, good qualities like nonviolence, which you have developed, are not very astonishing, for those engaged in the Lord's devotional service are never inclined to give pain to others because of envy.'

PURPORT

This is a quotation from the Skanda Purāṇa.
