bandhūnāḿ naṣṭa-gotrāṇām

arjunaḥ sāmparāyikam

hatānāḿ kārayām āsa

yathā-vad anupūrvaśaḥ

SYNONYMS

bandhūnām — of the relatives; naṣṭa-gotrāṇām — who had no remaining immediate family members; arjunaḥArjuna; sāmparāyikam — the funeral rites; hatānām — of the killed; kārayām āsahad executed; yathā-vatas prescribed in the Vedas; anupūrvaśaḥin order of the seniority of the deceased.

TRANSLATION

Arjuna then saw to it that the funeral rites were properly carried out for the dead, who had no remaining male family members. He executed the required ceremonies for each of the Yadus, one after another.
