ekadā kaśyapas tasyā

āśramaḿ bhagavān agāt

nirutsavaḿ nirānandaḿ

samādher virataś cirāt

SYNONYMS

ekadā — one day; kaśyapaḥ — the great sage Kaśyapa Muni; tasyāḥ — of Aditi; āśramamto the shelter; bhagavān — greatly powerful; agāt — went; nirutsavam — without enthusiasm; nirānandam — without jubilation; samādheḥ — his trance; virataḥ — stopping; cirāt — after a long time.

TRANSLATION

After many, many days, the great powerful sage Kaśyapa Muni arose from a trance of meditation and returned home to see the āśrama of Aditi neither jubilant nor festive.
