amṛtotpādane yatnaḥ

kriyatām avilambitam

yasya pītasya vai jantur

mṛtyu-grasto 'maro bhavet

SYNONYMS

amṛta-utpādanein generating nectar; yatnaḥ — endeavor; kriyatāmdo; avilambitam — without delay; yasya — of which nectar; pītasya — anyone who drinks; vai — indeed; jantuḥ — living entity; mṛtyu-grastaḥ — although in imminent danger of death; amaraḥ — immortal; bhavet — can become.

TRANSLATION

Immediately endeavor to produce nectar, which a person who is about to die may drink to become immortal.
