anyo 'pi dharma-rakṣāyai

dehaḥ saḿbhriyate mayā

virāmāyāpy adharmasya

kāle prabhavataḥ kvacit

SYNONYMS

anyaḥ — another; apias well; dharma — of religion; rakṣāyai — for the protection; dehaḥ — body; saḿbhriyate — is assumed; mayā — by Me; virāmāya — for the stopping; api — also; adharmasya — of irreligion; kālein the course of time; prabhavataḥ — becoming prominent; kvacit — whenever.

TRANSLATION

I also assume other bodies to protect religion and to end irreligion whenever it flourishes in the course of time.
