śrī-śuka uvāca
evaḿ prapannaiḥ saḿvignair
vepamānāyanair balaḥ
prasāditaḥ su-prasanno
mā bhaiṣṭety abhayaḿ dadau
SYNONYMS
śrī-śukaḥ uvāca — Śukadeva Gosvāmī said; evam — thus; prapannaiḥ — by those who were surrendering; saḿvignaiḥ — greatly distressed; vepamāna — shaking; ayanaiḥ — whose place of residence; balaḥ — Lord Balarāma; prasāditaḥ — propitiated; su — very; prasannaḥ — calm and gracious; mā bhaiṣṭa — do not be afraid; iti — thus saying; abhayam — relief from fear; dadau — He gave.
TRANSLATION
Śukadeva Gosvāmī said: Thus propitiated by the Kurus, whose city was trembling and who were surrendering to Him in great distress, Lord Balarāma became very calm and kindly disposed toward them. "Do not be afraid," He said, and took away their fear.
