evaḿ rūkṣais tudan vākyaiḥ
kṛṣṇaḿ totrair iva dvipam
gadayātāḍayan mūrdhni
siḿha-vad vyanadac ca saḥ
SYNONYMS
evam — thus; rūkṣaiḥ — harsh; tudan — harassing; vākyaiḥ — with words; kṛṣṇam — Lord Kṛṣṇa; totraiḥ — with goads; iva — as if; dvipam — an elephant; gadayā — with his club; atāḍayat — he struck Him; mūrdhni — on the head; siḿha-vat — like a lion; vyanadat — roared; ca — and; saḥ — he.
TRANSLATION
Thus trying to harass Lord Kṛṣṇa with harsh words, as one might prick an elephant with sharp goads, Dantavakra struck the Lord on the head with his club and roared like a lion.
