nāty-adbhutam ahaḿ manye

mahatām acyutātmanām

ajñeṣu tāpa-tapteṣu

bhūteṣu yad anugrahaḥ

SYNONYMS

na — not; ati-adbhutam — very surprising; ahamI; manye — think; mahatām — for the great souls; acyuta-ātmanām — whose minds are always absorbed in Lord Kṛṣṇa; ajñeṣu — upon the ignorant; tāpa — by the distresses of material life; tapteṣu — tormented; bhūteṣu — upon the conditioned souls; yat — which; anugrahaḥ — mercy.

TRANSLATION

I do not consider it at all amazing that great souls such as yourself, whose minds are always absorbed in the infallible Personality of Godhead, show mercy to the foolish conditioned souls, tormented as we are by the problems of material life.
