śrī-sūta uvāca

sampṛṣṭo bhagavān evaḿ

dvaipāyana-suto dvijāḥ

abhinandya harer vīryam

abhyācaṣṭuḿ pracakrame

SYNONYMS

śrī-sūtaḥ uvācaŚrī Sūta Gosvāmī said; sampṛṣṭaḥ — being questioned; bhagavānŚukadeva Gosvāmī; evam — thus; dvaipāyana-sutaḥ — the son of Vyāsadeva; dvi-jāḥO brāhmaṇas assembled here; abhinandya — congratulating Mahārāja Parīkṣit; hareḥ vīryam — the glories of the Supreme Personality of Godhead; abhyācaṣṭumto describe; pracakrame — endeavored.

TRANSLATION

Śrī Sūta Gosvāmī said: O learned brāhmaṇas assembled here at Naimiṣāraṇya, when Śukadeva Gosvāmī, the son of Dvaipāyana, was thus questioned by the King, he congratulated the King and then endeavored to describe further the glories of the Supreme Personality of Godhead.
