ity ayaḿ tad-alańkāra-
vāsobhyām avaśeṣitaḥ
tathā rājñy api vaidehī
saumańgalyāvaśeṣitā
SYNONYMS
iti — in this way (after giving everything to the brāhmaṇas); ayam — Lord Rāmacandra; tat — His; alańkāra-vāsobhyām — with personal ornaments and garments; avaśeṣitaḥ — remained; tathā — as well as; rājñī — the Queen (mother Sītā); api — also; vaidehī — the daughter of the King of Videha; saumańgalyā — with only the nose ring; avaśeṣitā — remained.
TRANSLATION
After thus giving everything in charity to the brāhmaṇas, Lord Rāmacandra retained only His personal garments and ornaments, and similarly the Queen, mother Sītā, was left with only her nose ring, and nothing else.
