jayadhvajāt tālajańghas
tasya putra-śataḿ tv abhūt
kṣatraḿ yat tālajańghākhyam
aurva-tejopasaḿhṛtam
SYNONYMS
jayadhvajāt — of Jayadhvaja; tālajańghaḥ — a son named Tālajańgha; tasya — of him (Tālajańgha); putra-śatam — one hundred sons; tu — indeed; abhūt — were born; kṣatram — a dynasty of kṣatriyas; yat — which; tālajańgha-ākhyam — were known as the Tālajańghas; aurva-tejaḥ — being very powerful; upasaḿhṛtam — were killed by Mahārāja Sagara.
TRANSLATION
Jayadhvaja had a son named Tālajańgha, who had one hundred sons. All the kṣatriyas in that dynasty, known as Tālajańgha, were annihilated by the great power received by Mahārāja Sagara from Aurva Ṛṣi.
