yei grantha-kartā cāhe sva-mata sthāpite

śāstrera sahaja artha nahe tāńhā haite

SYNONYMS

yei — anyone who; grantha-kartā — author; cāhe — wants; sva-mata sthāpiteto establish his own opinion; śāstrera — of the revealed scriptures; sahaja — the direct; artha — meaning; nahe — is not; tāńhā haite — from such an author.

TRANSLATION

"Anyone who wants to establish his own opinion or philosophy certainly cannot explain any scripture according to the principle of direct interpretation.
