śrī-rājovāca

kathyatāḿ bhagavann etat

tayoḥ śāpasya kāraṇam

yat tad vigarhitaḿ karma

yena vā devarṣes tamaḥ

SYNONYMS

śrī-rājā uvāca — the King further inquired; kathyatām — please describe; bhagavanO supremely powerful one; etat — this; tayoḥ — of both of them; śāpasya — of cursing; kāraṇam — the cause; yat — which; tat — that; vigarhitam — abominable; karma — act; yena — by which; — either; devarṣeḥ tamaḥ — the great sage Nārada became so angry.

TRANSLATION

King Parīkṣit inquired from Śukadeva Gosvāmī: O great and powerful saint, what was the cause of Nalakūvara's and Maṇigrīva's having been cursed by Nārada Muni? What did they do that was so abominable that even Nārada, the great sage, became angry at them? Kindly describe this to me.
