sa taḿ gṛhītvā prapador

bhrāmayitvaika-pāṇinā

cikṣepa tṛṇa-rājāgre

bhrāmaṇa-tyakta-jīvitam

SYNONYMS

saḥHe; tam — him; gṛhītvā — seizing; prapadoḥ — by the hooves; bhrāmayitvā — whirling around; eka-pāṇinā — with a single hand; cikṣepaHe threw; tṛṇa-rāja-agre — into the top of a palm tree; bhrāmaṇa — by the whirling; tyakta — giving up; jīvitam — his life.

TRANSLATION

Lord Balarāma seized Dhenuka by his hooves, whirled him about with one hand and threw him into the top of a palm tree. The violent wheeling motion killed the demon.
