tasya tat karma vijñāya

kṛṣṇaḥ śaraṇa-daḥ satām

gopān nayantaḿ jagrāha

vṛkaḿ harir ivaujasā

SYNONYMS

tasya — of him, Vyomāsura; tat — that; karma — activity; vijñāya — fully understanding; kṛṣṇaḥ — Lord Kṛṣṇa; śaraṇa — of shelter; daḥ — the giver; satāmto saintly devotees; gopāncowherd boys; nayantam — who was leading; jagrāhaHe seized; vṛkama wolf; hariḥa lion: iva — just as; ojasā — forcefully.

TRANSLATION

Lord Kṛṣṇa, who shelters all saintly devotees, understood perfectly well what Vyomāsura was doing. Just as a lion grabs a wolf, Kṛṣṇa forcefully seized the demon as he was taking away more cowherd boys.
