tac chrutvā prīta-manasa

indraprastha-nivāsinaḥ

menire māgadhaḿ śāntaḿ

rājā cāpta-manorathaḥ

SYNONYMS

tat — that; śrutvā — hearing; prīta — pleased; manasaḥin their hearts; indraprastha-nivāsinaḥ — the residents of Indraprastha; menire — understood; māgadhamJarāsandha; śāntamput to rest; rājā — the King (Yudhiṣṭhira); ca — and; āpta — achieved; manaḥ-rathaḥ — whose desires.

TRANSLATION

The residents of Indraprastha were very pleased to hear that sound, for they understood that now the King of Magadha had been put to rest. King Yudhiṣṭhira felt that his desires were now fulfilled.
