Bhaktivedanta VedaBase: Śrīmad Bhāgavatam 11.18.23

tasmān niyamya ṣaḍ-vargaḿ

mad-bhāvena caren muniḥ

viraktaḥ kṣudra-kāmebhyo

labdhvātmani sukhaḿ mahat

SYNONYMS

tasmāt — therefore; niyamya — completely controlling; ṣaṭ-vargam — the six senses (sight, hearing, smell, touch, taste and the mind); mat-bhāvena — by consciousness of Me; caret — should live; muniḥ — the sage; viraktaḥ — detached; kṣudra — insignificant; kāmebhyaḥ — from sense gratification; labdhvā — having experienced; ātmaniin the self; sukham — happiness; mahat — great.

TRANSLATION

Therefore, completely controlling the five senses and the mind by Kṛṣṇa consciousness, a sage, having experienced spiritual bliss within the self, should live detached from insignificant material sense gratification.
