iti sva-dharma-nirṇikta-

sattvo nirjñāta-mad-gatiḥ

jñāna-vijñāna-sampanno

na cirāt samupaiti mām

SYNONYMS

iti — thus; sva-dharma — by performing his prescribed duty; nirṇikta — having purified; sattvaḥ — his existence; nirjñāta — completely understanding; mat-gatiḥ — My supreme position; jñāna — with knowledge of the scriptures; vijñāna — and realized knowledge of the soul; sampannaḥ — endowed; na cirātin the near future; samupaiti — completely achieves; māmMe.

TRANSLATION

Thus, one who has purified his existence by execution of his prescribed duties, who fully understands My supreme position and who is endowed with scriptural and realized knowledge, very soon achieves Me.
