sanātana kahe, — "tumi nā kara rāja-bhaya
dakṣiṇa giyāche yadi leuṭi' āoyaya
tāńhāre kahio — sei bāhya-kṛtye gela
gańgāra nikaṭa gańgā dekhi' jhāńpa dila
SYNONYMS
sanātana kahe — Sanātana replied; tumi — you; nā — not; kara — do; rāja-bhaya — fear of the government; dakṣiṇa — to the south; giyāche — has gone; yadi — if; leuṭi' — returning; āoyaya — comes; tāńhāre — to him; kahio — you say; sei — he; bāhya-kṛtye — to evacuate; gela — went; gańgāra nikaṭa — near the bank of the Ganges; gańgā dekhi' — seeing the Ganges; jhāńpa dila — jumped.
TRANSLATION
Sanātana replied, "There is no danger. The Nawab has gone to the south. If he returns, tell him that Sanātana went to pass stool near the bank of the Ganges and that as soon as he saw the Ganges, he jumped in.
