śata śloka kaila eka daṇḍa nā yāite

bṛhaspati taiche śloka nā pāre karite

SYNONYMS

śata — one hundred; śloka — verses; kaila — composed; eka — one; daṇḍaa duration of twenty-four minutes; — not; yāite — passing; bṛhaspatiBṛhaspati, the priest of the heavenly planets; taiche — such; śloka — verses; — not; pāre — able; kariteto compose.

TRANSLATION

Sārvabhauma Bhaṭṭācārya composed one hundred verses in a very short time. Indeed, not even Bṛhaspati, the priest of the heavenly planets, could compose verses as quickly.

PURPORT

The name of the book of one hundred beautiful verses composed by Sārvabhauma Bhaṭṭācārya is Suśloka-śataka.
