śrī-śuka uvāca
pṛṣṭo bhagavatā sarvaḿ
varṇayām āsa mādhavaḥ
vairānubandhaḿ yaduṣu
vasudeva-vadhodyamam
SYNONYMS
śrī-śukaḥ uvāca — Śukadeva Gosvāmī said; pṛṣṭaḥ — requested; bhagavatā — by the Supreme Lord; sarvam — everything; varṇayām āsa — described; mādhavaḥ — Akrūra, descendant of Madhu; vaira-anubandham — the inimical attitude; yaduṣu — toward the Yadus; vasudeva — Vasudeva; vadha — to murder; udyamam — the attempt.
TRANSLATION
Śukadeva Gosvāmī said: In response to the Supreme Lord's request, Akrūra, the descendant of Madhu, described the whole situation, including King Kaḿsa's enmity toward the Yadus and his attempt to murder Vasudeva.
