śrī-rājovāca

satrājitaḥ kim akarod

brahman kṛṣṇasya kilbiṣaḥ

syamantakaḥ kutas tasya

kasmād dattā sutā hareḥ

SYNONYMS

śrī-rājā — the King (Parīkṣit Mahārāja); uvāca — said; satrājitaḥSatrājit; kim — what; akarot — committed; brahmanO brāhmaṇa; kṛṣṇasya — against Lord Kṛṣṇa; kilbiṣaḥ — offense; syamantakaḥ — the Syamantaka jewel; kutaḥ — from where; tasya — his; kasmāt — why; dattā — given; sutā — his daughter; hareḥto Lord Hari.

TRANSLATION

Mahārāja Parīkṣit inquired: O brāhmaṇa, what did King Satrājit do to offend Lord Kṛṣṇa? Where did he get the Syamantaka jewel, and why did he give his daughter to the Supreme Lord?
