nagnajin nāma kauśalya

āsīd rājāti-dhārmikaḥ

tasya satyābhavat kanyā

devī nāgnajitī nṛpa

SYNONYMS

nagnajitNagnajit; nāma — named; kauśalyaḥ — ruler of Kauśalya (Ayodhyā); āsīt — there was; rājāa king; ati — very; dhārmikaḥ — religious; tasya — his; satyāSatyā; abhavat — there was; kanyāa daughter; devī — lovely; nāgnajitī — also called Nāgnajitī; nṛpaO King.

TRANSLATION

O King, Nagnajit, the very pious King of Kauśalya, had a lovely daughter named Satyā, or Nāgnajitī.
