gatvā te khāṇḍava-prasthaḿ

śańkhān dadhmur jitārayaḥ

harṣayantaḥ sva-suhṛdo

durhṛdāḿ cāsukhāvahāḥ

SYNONYMS

gatvā — arriving; te — they; khāṇḍava-prastham — at Indraprastha; śańkhān — their conchshells; dadhmuḥ — blew; jita — having defeated; arayaḥ — their enemy; harṣayantaḥ — delighting; sva — their; suhṛdaḥ — well-wishers; durhṛdāmto their enemies; ca — and; asukha — displeasure; āvahāḥ — bringing.

TRANSLATION

When they arrived at Indraprastha, the victorious heroes blew their conchshells, bringing joy to their well-wishing friends and sorrow to their enemies.
