tataḥ phālgunam āsādya

pañcāpsarasam uttamam

viṣṇuḥ sannihito yatra

snātvāsparśad gavāyutam

SYNONYMS

tataḥ — then; phālgunamPhālguna; āsādya — reaching; pañca-apsarasam — the lake of the five Apsarās; uttamam — exalted; viṣṇuḥ — the Supreme Lord, Viṣṇu; sannihitaḥ — manifested; yatra — wherein; snātvā — bathing; asparśatHe touched (as part of the ritual in giving as charity); gava — cows; ayutam — ten thousand.

TRANSLATION

Next He went to Phālguna-tīrtha and bathed in the sacred Pañcāpsarā Lake, where Lord Viṣṇu had directly manifested Himself. At this place He gave away another ten thousand cows.
