jñāna-vijñāna-yajñena
mām iṣṭvātmānam ātmani
sarva-yajña-patiḿ māḿ vai
saḿsiddhiḿ munayo 'gaman
SYNONYMS
jñāna — of Vedic knowledge; vijñāna — and spiritual enlightenment; yajñena — by the sacrifice; mām — Me; iṣṭvā — having worshiped; ātmānam — the Supreme Lord within everyone's heart; ātmani — within themselves; sarva — of all; yajña — sacrifices; patim — the Lord; mām — Me; vai — certainly; saḿsiddhim — the supreme perfection; munayaḥ — the sages; agaman — achieved.
TRANSLATION
Formerly, great sages, through the sacrifice of Vedic knowledge and spiritual enlightenment, worshiped Me within themselves, knowing Me to be the Supreme Lord of all sacrifice and the Supersoul in everyone's heart. Thus coming to Me, these sages achieved the supreme perfection.
