hṛdi yasya preraṇayā

pravartito 'haḿ varāka-rūpo 'pi

tasya hareḥ pada-kamalaḿ

vande caitanya-devasya

SYNONYMS

hṛdi — within the heart; yasya — of whom (the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who gives His pure devotees intelligence with which to spread the Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement); preraṇayā — by the inspiration; pravartitaḥ — engaged; ahamI; varāka — insignificant and low; rūpaḥRūpa Gosvāmī; api — although; tasya — of Him; hareḥ — who is Lord Hari, the Supreme Personality of Godhead; pada-kamalamto the lotus feet; vande — let me offer my prayers; caitanya-devasya — of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu.

TRANSLATION

"Although I am the lowest of men and have no knowledge, the inspiration to write transcendental literatures about devotional service has been mercifully bestowed upon me. Therefore I am offering my obeisances at the lotus feet of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who has given me the chance to write these books."
