sūta uvāca

sa evam ṛṣi-varyo 'yaḿ

pṛṣṭo rājñā parīkṣitā

praty āha taḿ subahu-vit

prītātmā śrūyatām iti

SYNONYMS

sūtaḥ uvācaŚrī Sūta Gosvāmī said; saḥhe; evam — thus; ṛṣi-varyaḥ — the great ṛṣi; ayamŚukadeva Gosvāmī; pṛṣṭaḥ — being questioned; rājñā — by the King; parīkṣitāMahārāja Parīkṣit; pratito; āha — replied; tam — unto the King; su-bahu-vit — highly experienced; prīta-ātmā — fully satisfied; śrūyatām — please hear me; iti — thus.

TRANSLATION

Śrī Suta Gosvāmī said: The great sage Śukadeva Gosvāmī was highly experienced and was pleased with the King. Thus being questioned by the King, he said to him, "Please hear the topics attentively."
