chāyā śanaiścaraḿ lebhe

sāvarṇiḿ ca manuḿ tataḥ

kanyāḿ ca tapatīḿ yā vai

vavre saḿvaraṇaḿ patim

SYNONYMS

chāyāChāyā, another wife of the sun-god; śanaiścaram — Saturn; lebhe — begot; sāvarṇimSāvarṇi; ca — and; manum — the Manu; tataḥ — from him (Vivasvān); kanyām — one daughter; caas well as; tapatīm — named Tapatī; — who; vai — indeed; vavre — married; saḿvaraṇamSaḿvaraṇa; patim — husband.

TRANSLATION

Chāyā, another wife of the sun-god, begot two sons named Śanaiścara and Sāvarṇi Manu, and one daughter, Tapatī, who married Saḿvaraṇa.
