aryamṇo mātṛkā patnī

tayoś carṣaṇayaḥ sutāḥ

yatra vai mānuṣī jātir

brahmaṇā copakalpitā

SYNONYMS

aryamṇaḥ — of Aryamā; mātṛkāMātṛkā; patnī — the wife; tayoḥ — by their union; carṣaṇayaḥ sutāḥ — many sons who were learned scholars; yatra — wherein; vai — indeed; mānuṣī — human; jātiḥ — species; brahmaṇā — by Lord Brahmā; ca — and; upakalpitā — was created.

TRANSLATION

From the womb of Mātṛkā, the wife of Aryamā, were born many learned scholars. Among them Lord Brahmā created the human species, which are endowed with an aptitude for self-examination.
