gańgā-pathe dui-bhāi rāja-pathe sanātana

ataeva tāńhā sane nā haila milana

SYNONYMS

gańgā-pathe — on the road on the bank of the Ganges; dui-bhāi — the two brothers Rūpa and Anupama; rāja-pathe — on the public road; sanātanaSanātana Gosvāmī; ataeva — because of this; tāńhā sane — with him; haila milana — there was not a meeting.

TRANSLATION

Since Sanātana Gosvāmī went along the public road to Vṛndāvana and Rūpa Gosvāmī and Anupama went on the road along the Ganges' banks, it was not possible for them to meet.
