gate śata-dhṛtau kṣattaḥ

kardamas tena coditaḥ

yathoditaḿ sva-duhitṝḥ

prādād viśva-sṛjāḿ tataḥ

SYNONYMS

gate — after he departed; śata-dhṛtau — Lord Brahmā; kṣattaḥO Vidura; kardamaḥKardama Muni; tena — by him; coditaḥ — ordered; yathā-uditamas told; sva-duhitṝḥ — his own daughters; prādāt — handed over; viśva-sṛjāmto the creators of the world's population; tataḥ — thereafter.

TRANSLATION

O Vidura, after the departure of Brahmā, Kardama Muni, having been ordered by Brahmā, handed over his nine daughters, as instructed, to the nine great sages who created the population of the world.
