tad-abhidravad udvīkṣya

sva-prayāsaḿ ca niṣphalam

durvāsā dudruve bhīto

dikṣu prāṇa-parīpsayā

SYNONYMS

tat — of that disc; abhidravat — moving toward him; udvīkṣya — after seeing; sva-prayāsam — his own attempt; ca — and; niṣphalam — having failed; durvāsāḥ — Durvāsā Muni; dudruve — began to run; bhītaḥ — full of fear; dikṣuin every direction; prāṇa-parīpsayā — with a desire to save his life.

TRANSLATION

Upon seeing that his own attempt had failed and that the Sudarśana cakra was moving toward him, Durvāsā Muni became very frightened and began to run in all directions to save his life.
