teṣāḿ striyo mahā-rāja
suhṛn-maraṇa-duḥkhitāḥ
tatrābhīyur vinighnantyaḥ
śīrṣāṇy aśru-vilocanāḥ
SYNONYMS
teṣām — of them (Kaḿsa and his brothers); striyaḥ — the wives; mahārāja — O King (Parīkṣit); suhṛt — of their well-wishers (their husbands); maraṇa — because of the death; duḥkhitāḥ — sorrowful; tatra — that place; abhīyuḥ — approached; vinighnantyaḥ — beating; śīrṣāṇi — their heads; aśru — with tears; vilocanāḥ — their eyes.
TRANSLATION
My dear King, the wives of Kaḿsa and his brothers, aggrieved by the death of their well-wishing husbands, came forward with tearful eyes, beating their heads.
